Job description

The Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice.

Overview:

Safe Harbour provides case coordination and advocacy for commercially sexually exploited youth. Assistance includes shelter, counseling, safety needs, and other interventions to address needs.

The Youth Engagement Advocate provides intensive case management and advocacy for youth. This position will assist youth to address immediate life and safety issues and reduce the risk of continued sexual exploitation and abuse.

Schedule: Full time.

Responsibilities:

  • Crisis Intervention
  • Case management & youth advocacy
  • Individual counseling
  • Community outreach to youth-serving agencies
  • Maintain client confidentiality, consistent with center policies
  • Referral readiness and referral services
  • After-hours response, assessment and intake
  • Engage youth to offer services and referrals
  • Transportation of clients, when required and consistent with agency policies

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Service or related field AND 2 years' experience with navigating systems and crisis case management OR equivalent combination / Master's Degree preferred
  • A valid driver's license

Skills:

  • Knowledge of community resources

Pay Rate: $20- $21 per hour
