Description of Role:
As a ESS Engineer, you will be involved in a variety of tasks related to the development, implementation, and improvement of energy storage systems. This will include assisting in the design and analysis of energy storage systems, conducting research on emerging technologies and industry trends, and collaborating with engineers on project planning and execution. Additionally, the ESS Engineer may be involved in data analysis, documentation, and providing support in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities. This role is a great opportunity for an ambitious self-starter looking to help fuel the growth of one of the most innovative companies in the space.
Core responsibilities will include:
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of battery storage systems, their components, integration, site engineering and construction;
  • Design and optimize energy storage systems based on project requirements and technical specifications;
  • Monitor and analyze the operational performance of energy storage systems, identifying and resolving issues;
  • Work on regulatory compliance and safety standards associated with energy storage projects;
  • Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to address project requirements and ensure compliance;
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation, reports, and specifications;
  • Participate in project meetings, presenting technical information and updates to stakeholders;
  • Engage in troubleshooting and problem-solving to address technical challenges that may arise during project implementation.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base salary commensurate with experience and generous annual cash bonuses;
  • Full benefits package, including 401k, health/dental/vision insurance, paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays,and short term disability.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline, preferably with a focus on electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field;
  • 0 - 2+ years of professional experience

Preferred Skills:
  • Strong organizational, networking, leadership, and time management skills
  • Outstanding problem solving, strategic thinking, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently and as a team member
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Python (or other CAD tools and programming languages)
  • Knowledge of the electric utility industry and electric energy markets is a plus
