The Commercial Pricing Analyst will partner closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain to develop pricing models, prepare quotes, and monitor market trends that impact customer pricing. The ideal candidate understands how commodity volatility affects product cost and is comfortable working quickly and collaboratively in a commercial environment.
Responsibilities
Customer Pricing & Sales Support
  • Serve as the primary analytical partner to the Sales team for pricing decisions.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain customer-specific pricing models.
  • Prepare customer quotes and proposals with accurate material cost assumptions.
  • Review pricing requests for profitability, competitiveness, and alignment with business strategy.
  • Work with Regional Sales Managers to respond to customer price challenges, cost-based increases, and margin-improvement initiatives.

Commodity & Cost Analysis
  • Monitor daily/weekly precious metals markets (e.g., gold, silver, bronze group metals) and other commodities relevant to product cost.
  • Analyze cost volatility and provide timely updates to Sales and leadership.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Finance to understand material cost drivers, hedging positions, supplier pricing, and market risks.
  • Model the impact of commodity movement on product pricing and customer agreements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Finance to validate cost assumptions and ensure consistent margin targets in pricing decisions.
  • Work with Operations and Supply Chain to understand material usage, scrap, yield, and other cost factors.
  • Support Commercial Leadership in development of pricing strategies, customer segmentation, and market-positioning initiatives.

Tools, Systems & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate pricing through ERP and quoting systems.
  • Build and enhance pricing models, dashboards, and forecasting tools.
  • Provide clear reporting to Sales and management on pricing trends, cost changes, and margin performance.

Perform other tasks as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in pricing, cost analysis, financial analysis, market analysis, or similar roles.
  • Experience with precious metals or other volatile commodity markets strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical reasoning, and data interpretation skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel (advanced) and familiarity with ERP/quoting platforms.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with Sales teams and simplify complex cost concepts for non-financial colleagues.
  • Experience supporting Sales or Commercial teams in a manufacturing or materials-intensive environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of hedging strategies, commodity risk management, or supplier cost structures preferred.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics software.
  • Understanding of customer contracts, pricing escalators, and cost-pass-through mechanisms.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-moving market environment.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with Sales teams.
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to translate data into actionable pricing guidance.
