Job Description

ProSidian Seeks a Waste Treatment Startup and Commissioning Engineer - Hanford Site Technical Support (Part-Time) headquartered near Richland, WA 99320 to support engagement for the DOE Office of River Protection (ORP) - an independent office at the DOE Site in eastern Washington state with the exclusive focus of remediating and solving the DOE's tank cleanup challenges. ORP's mission is to protect the Columbia River by safely cleaning up radioactive and chemical waste contained in underground storage tanks located at the DOE Site.

This Part-Time position currently best aligns with the Consultant III Labor Category and ideal candidates exhibit the ability to visualize, analyze, and convert data and experiences to meet performance challenges while confidently engaging in productive dialogue targeting mission success.ย  The ProSidian Engagement Team Members work to provide Site Technical Support Services assistance including technical support services in environmental remediation, and related technical and administrative program management support expertise and assistance in carrying out responsibilities to plan, direct and oversee design, construction, environmental remediation, cleanup and operation of government facilities to support ORP at Hanford in the Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area

Part-Time Waste Treatment Startup and Commissioning Engineer - Hanford Site Technical Support Candidates shall work to support requirements for ORP Site Technical Support Services and provide Waste Treatment Commissioning Operations and Maintenance services to ORP with Subject matter expertise (SME) that can function in the roles of expert reviewers to support the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of River Protections Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (DOE-WTP) Commissioning, Operations, and Maintenance Division. Preferences are for readily applicable expertise; however, consideration will be given to the ability to obtain and apply skills.

  • Provide oversight of the conduct of operations
  • Provide oversight of Training of Technical Personnel
  • Ability to gain understanding and provide oversight of commissioning plan development
  • Experience of writing assessment reports
  • Provide oversight of maintenance and work control processes
  • Coordinate issue assessment and resolution with ORP engineering, regulatory, and other supporting staff.
  • Directly interface with-DOE-ORP senior management and local and federal agency executives
  • Obtain and apply knowledge of DOE policies and procedures
  • Obtain and apply knowledge of Hanford Site mission, activities
  • Obtain and apply knowledge of DOE program and project management practices, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrate expert writing skills, proven experience in supporting programs and projects with analysis, track milestones, monitor and create an assessment
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and/or other Office tools.
  • Obtain and maintain proficiencies in DOE-ORP specific required training
  • Obtain and apply knowledge DOE-ORP Orders/Standards such as facility operations, maintenance management of a nuclear facility, related training, and certifications

Qualifications

The Waste Treatment Startup and Commissioning Engineer - Hanford Site Technical Support shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.ย 

Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.

Positions require appropriate technical competency in writing, editing, and analytical writing or similar skills, the following shall be applicable to all, including:

  • Abilities for editing, formatting, Microsoft Office, Excel, digital technical support, Adobe Acrobat, Office Timeline, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat support to the entire ORP staff.
  • Support will also include classifying and summarizing information for needed and specific briefings and reports for preparation and submittal and coordinating and ensuring other organizations are kept apprised of current information.

Education - BS/BA degree in engineering, science, or business management

Experience - Fourteen (14) years of directly applicable successful experience and supported by past performance.ย  U.S Citizenship.

TRAVEL:ย  Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements.ย  Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.ย 

LOCATION:ย  Work shall be conducted at or in proximity to Richland, WA 99320
