Description
Performance Systems Development (PSD) is seeking an Energy Code Specialist.
As an Energy Code Specialist, you will:
  • Contribute to the development of new course ideas and training topics aligned with evolving energy codes and industry needs.
  • Transform course outlines into engaging PowerPoint presentations, creating or sourcing visual content that enhances and supports key concepts.
  • Deliver live webinar and in-person training sessions to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to clients to support their understanding of applicable energy codes and energy code policies within their jurisdictions.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Energy Codes/Provider Services and plays a key role in helping PSD Advances PSD's energy code expertise through training, technical guidance, and stakeholder engagement.
What You Bring
  • Strong knowledge of residential and commercial energy codes and related compliance and enforcement practices
  • Experience developing technical resources to support energy code compliance, including training presentations, checklists, flowcharts, field guides, and FAQs
  • Familiarity with the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and its application across multiple project types
  • Working knowledge of New York State energy codes, including the Energy Conservation Construction Code of New York State (ECCCNYS) and NYStretch Energy Code
  • Ability to stay current on model energy codes and track state-level adoption and amendments
  • Experience delivering live online and in-person training, along with providing technical assistance and guidance to diverse industry audiences
  • Solid foundation in building science principles and a commitment to ongoing professional learning
  • Strong relationship-building skills with code officials, design and construction professionals, and professional associations
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with training, development, and marketing teams
  • Comfortable preparing clear, timely reports and updates for clients
  • Ability to work independently while reporting to and coordinating with a Senior Manager of Energy Codes / Provider Services
  • Ability to obtain Residential and Commercial IECC certifications
  • Must reside in New York State
  • ICC, BPI, and/or relevant state certifications are preferred

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $66,000 - $74,000 per year.

The pay range for this role is:
