Job Summary
Schedule: 24 hour position.
Mix of (3) eight hour shifts, or (2) twelve hour shifts.
Our Endoscopy nurses coordinate and provide all aspects of nursing care related to care before, during and after procedures, and collaborates with all disciplines to achieve the defined patient outcomes. This role includes caring for patients in the procedure rooms, and providing IV conscious sedation.
The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts who is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care as set forth in the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual. The registered nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care and is directly responsible to a designated nurse manager, or supervisor. The Staff Nurse will also assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice.
Qualifications
  • BSN required
  • Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure required
  • BLS and ACLS Certification for Healthcare Providers required
  • Previous gastroenterology nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Previous procedural/ambulatory nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Show evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
  • Ability to demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities
  • Ability to adhere to all I.C.A.R.E. standards
