Job Description

The ATS tools group provides 24x7 automated monitoring of servers, hardware, middleware and applications using a combination of vendor and internal infrastructure support tools for the FIS Command Center and other FIS support groups. ATS is also responsible for developing and supporting web-based tools for open systems (unix-based and Windows) infrastructure inventory, gathering hardware and software details for support tools used by Operations to perform their monitoring and callout duties. In addition, the ATS group supports infrastructure and application access and account tools used within the security and helpdesk organizations.

The ATS Development Engineer II position performs the support functions for the ATS tool sets by managing submitted work requests; self identified changes/updates and approved adhoc requests from clients and FIS management team; able to work individually to accomplish support functions; and take direction from ATS Leads and management team to resolve problems and projects. Performs recommended software and code updates understanding:

Problem ticket and crisis management call support.

Ability to follow problem and change management processes.

This position requires work during both normal business hours and off hours, as required to resolve critical business and impacting issues. Using team schedules on call rotations are used to provide 24 x 7 x 365 on site and on call production support coverage.


This is a full time, permanent position and requires the candidate to sit on-site in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  Paid relocation is not provided.  Must be fully authorized to work in the United States.  Sponsorship will not be provided.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Provide Development leadership for BMC Remedy/ITSM implementation
  • Develop and support custom workflow and forms to allow the Remedy product to meet specific business requirements identified by our various user communities.
  • Work with BMC on any Remedy performance or software bugs that are uncovered.
  • Work with Remedy Database support team to ensure the database component works in an optimum fashion.
  • A solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts
  • Seeks opportunities to improve client satisfaction through immediate action on client requests.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems systematically, organize information and generate solutions while recognizing the impact on stakeholders and the business.
  • Exhibits confidence and knowledge of emerging industry practices and best practices.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or comparable field of study.
  • 5 to 10 years working experience in the IT field is favorable.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications business application systems preferred.
  • Understanding of BMC's Remedy AR System, Remedy ITSM Suite and CMDB
  • Experienced in developing successful Remedy solutions
  • Experienced in enhancing ITSM Suite to meet End User requirements
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools is favorable.
  • Working experience with programming and scripting (unix shell, perl, etc)
  • PSL (Patrol Script Language) coding knowledge/experience is desired.
  • Understanding of databases and queries
  • Knowledge and understanding of BMC server monitoring tools is favorable.
