Job description

We are seeking a Design Engineer to contribute to solid waste projects. We seek a collaborative individual eager for professional growth. The role involves preparing engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications, serving as the Engineer of Record on projects for diverse clients primarily in the South Florida region.

Responsibilities encompass engineering design, client interactions, and team coordination and development, with a focus on solid waste management projects like landfill gas, landfills and infrastructure, composting, and related endeavors spanning design, engineering, permitting, construction, and operations support.

Requirements

Reporting to the Project Director/South Florida Solid Waste Group Leader, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Apply extensive knowledge of engineering and scientific principles in solid waste and related fields.
  • Independently address engineering challenges, coordinate work, and represent the company at various forums.
  • Undertake fieldwork in varied conditions, including surveys, inspections, etc., and office-based tasks like CAD drafting, report writing, and permit applications.
  • Engage in business development activities such as proposal preparation and client meetings.

Requirements include:

  • Florida P.E. (preferably civil) registration or eligibility for reciprocity within 6 months.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the solid waste industry, including landfill gas management, air compliance, and landfill design and permitting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and environmental consulting software; familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
