Job Title: Emergency Certification Status Update

Location: Districtwide

Position Summary

This posting is for individuals seeking employment with the Juneau School District under an Alaska Emergency Certificate. Emergency certification is intended for applicants who have not yet met all Alaska teacher certification requirements but are actively working toward full certification.

To be considered for employment under an emergency certificate, applicants must provide documentation demonstrating progress toward meeting Alaska Department of Education and Early Development (DEED) certification requirements. Employment under an emergency certificate is contingent upon continued progress toward full certification.

Required Documentation

Applicants must submit evidence showing advancement in an approved teacher preparation or certification program. Acceptable documentation may include:

  • Official or unofficial transcripts showing completed coursework
  • Course completion records
  • Verification of enrollment in an approved educator preparation program
  • Program verification or advisor documentation
  • Other materials demonstrating progress toward Alaska teacher certification
