Overview

Are you a creative communicator passionate about crafting and developing engaging stories across various platforms? As a Communications Specialist, you will assist in the development and implementation of employee communications, external communications and marketing communications programs to strengthen our brand. 

You will collaborate with industry experts and committed teams who value individualityand recognize achievements by joining the $4.6B SR 400 Express Lanes project in Atlanta-one of the largest roadway projects in the United States-delivered through a public-private partnership led by FlatironDragados and ACCIONA. This landmark infrastructure program includes the design, construction, and long-term operation and maintenance of the corridor over 50 years, transforming a critical transportation route and supporting mobility in one of the nation's fastest-growing regions..

What you will be doing
  • Assists with planning and implementing marketing and communication strategies for the SR400 Project
  • Develops, implements, and analyzes marketing and communications materials for assigned segments and departments, including print, video, website, advertising, digital marketing, and sponsorship events. 
  • Collaborates with Managers and external vendors for graphic design, print, and other creative needs. 
  • Manages a master marketing and communications tracking calendar and develops reports to monitor program effectiveness
  • Assist with day-to-day communications and public relations activities across the project
  • Draft and coordinate press releases with the traffic and project teams, ensuring accurate communication regarding traffic impacts and construction updates
  • Conduct media monitoring to stay informed on project coverage and identify relevant news
  • Support responses to GDOT Public Information Requests, gathering project information from internal teams and helping prepare responses for GDOT approval
  • Develop and distribute public notices related to construction activities, traffic changes, and major project milestones
  • Stay informed on ongoing construction activities to effectively communicate project updates to the public and stakeholders
  • Assist with the monthly project newsletter, compiling information from various teams and coordinating content with GDOT
What we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related field required.  
  • 2+ years' experience in corporate communications or related field required, can include internships.  
  • Excellent AP writing style skill required.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet assigned deadlines and collaborate across variety of teams, departments and organizations. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; with proven experience with Word, PowerPoint and Excel. 
  • Understanding of integrated marketing and communications approach.  
  • Must have the ability to work independently within a team-based dynamic.  
  • Flexible and willingness to adapt to changing priorities.  
  • Demonstrated ability to follow directions, complete tasks accurately and accept supervisory input and constructive criticism.
