Job description

Actively Screening for Reagent Development Scientist to join medical device company in Peachtree Corners, GA!

Description

The Reagent Development Scientist (RDS) I will join a hands-on, results driven team working to develop, optimize and validate new and existing reagent formulations of blood banking reagents in a medical device company. This role focuses on formulation and characterization of the reagents (analytical and performance testing), while having the critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and provide feedback to the sr level scientist and team members on recommended next steps. The individual will be responsible for feedback of scale ability of processes and working with manufacturing technical support team members for design transfers into operations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Executes laboratory studies for the manufacture of new and existing reagents in the Reagent Development Lab.
  • Performs departmental activities according to department procedures and/or supervisory instructions
  • Completes tasks within procedure or department defined time frames
  • Participates in developing departmental procedures, quality plans/device master records, and/or work instructions appropriate for Qualification and Validation Study protocols required for appropriate Design Transfer into manufacturing operations
  • Implements special projects and validations, as needed

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required:

  • Bachelors Degree (BS/BA) in Chemistry or Biology is required.
  • One to two years of related work experience, general lab work or a combination of undergraduate research experience will be considered.
  • Research experience including cellular biology - growing cells, culturing cells, cloning and isolation of plasma, working with antibodies, etc.
  • Experience working with blood based assays (CBC, immunoassays).
  • Experience within research and development is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience working with blood reagents is highly desirable
  • Experience in IVD development is preferred
  • Management has the discretion of substituting relevant work experience for a degree and/or making exceptions to the years of experience requirement.

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Execution of Bench and Pilot Scale Bulk Formulations for new and existing Reagent Development.
  • Capable of performing or willingness to learn ELISA’s, Blood analysis (Hematology Analyzer, etc.), Absorbance (Spectrophotometer), Automated blood typing and Manual Blood typing for characterization of antibodies and Red Blood Cells

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peachtree Corners, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
