The Stewardship and Engagement Program Manager leads the development, implementation, and sustainability of a comprehensive donor stewardship and engagement program. This role ensures donors feel appreciated, informed, and inspired to continue supporting Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

Partnering with Directors of Philanthropy, clinical leaders, Marketing and Communications, and Finance, this position creates meaningful donor experiences and impact communications that demonstrate how philanthropy advances care across the system. Educational Foundation

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or related field

Professional Experience

  • 2 to 5 years of nonprofit development, donor relations, communications, or related experience

What You Will Lead and Deliver

Donor Stewardship and Recognition

  • Designs and manages a strategic, tiered stewardship plan for donors and grantors at all giving levels
  • Ensures timely, personalized stewardship aligned with donor intent, recognition preferences, and gift agreements
  • Oversees donor recognition initiatives including physical signage and digital displays
  • Coordinates acknowledgment letters and emails for donors and honorees in collaboration with development and executive teams
  • Supports donor engagement activities such as events, tours, recognitions, and ceremonies
  • Maintains a structured calendar for recurring stewardship touchpoints

Annual Appeals

  • Designs and develops compelling direct mail and electronic appeals
  • Ensures timely distribution of all appeal communications
  • Maintains accurate and current mailing lists
  • Coordinates with Marketing and internal production teams for development and distribution

Impact Communications and Reporting

  • Partners with clinicians and program leaders to gather outcomes, stories, and metrics that demonstrate donor impact
  • Creates stewardship reports, newsletters, and personalized donor updates
  • Maintains templates and style guidelines to ensure consistent branding and messaging

Process, Data, and Integrity

  • Ensures accurate gift designation and fund utilization reporting
  • Maintains documentation for donor preferences, naming opportunities, and recognition standards
  • Ensures stewardship activities are documented in the CRM and aligned with reporting requirements
  • Partners with Finance and program leaders to communicate fund balances, expenditures, and outcomes

Measurement and Continuous Improvement

  • Uses data and analytics to evaluate stewardship effectiveness
  • Recommends enhancements to donor communications, automation, and engagement strategies
