Job description


  • Manages, administers and maintains compliance for company wide disability plans.
  • Manages the FMLA leave process to include oversight of third party vendor for FMLA compliance.
  • Manages the health savings, health spending and dependent care spending account administration.
  • Acts as management back up for 401(k), and pension benefit claims and administration. Processes weekly payroll feed to 401k vendor as needed.
  • Works with finance department on benefit accruals, reconciliation of benefit accounts and other issues that may arise. Projects plan liabilities and keeps manager abreast of findings.
  • Recommends additions and modifications to assigned benefit plans consistent with benefit trends and budget guidelines.
  • Works with management to implement approved benefit cost controls and guidelines for employee benefit program cost sharing.
  • Completes assigned state and federal compliance reports under ERISA or other regulations as required.
  • Issues and updates assigned federally mandated summary plan descriptions and other required documentation to employees.
  • Performs weekly file feeds to carriers as assigned and acts as back up to others in department to ensure all weekly feeds are completed.
  • Reviews medical claims questioned by employees, insurance companies or other personnel. Resolves issues that may arise.
  • Contacts vendors to investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five to seven years prior related experience and/or training required.
  • Seven to ten years prior management and administrative experience to include compliance.
  • Prior experience in working with internal finance department, internal and external auditors and others in the area of plan compliance and reconciliations.
  • Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing with department heads, managers, coworkers and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within an automated systems as well as a variety of software packages such as Excel and Word.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in management, accounting or related field preferred.
