Emergency Services Division Manager

Lead. Build. Protect. Restore.

Rainbow Restoration of Chesapeake is growing, and we are looking for a strong operational leader to oversee our Emergency Services Division. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced restoration environment, knows how to lead teams in the field, and understands how to balance customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and profitability.

We are a locally owned, woman-owned, SWaM-certified restoration company serving the Hampton Roads region. Our services include water mitigation, mold remediation, fire and smoke restoration, trauma and hoarding cleanup, specialty cleaning, and emergency board-up services.

Position Overview

The Emergency Services Division Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations for our water mitigation, mold remediation, board-up, and emergency response services. This role leads Project Managers, technicians, laborers, and subcontractors while ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, profitably, and with exceptional customer service.

This is a leadership role that combines field operations, team management, scheduling, customer communication, training, compliance, and performance management.


What You'll Do

Operations & Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage emergency service operations across water, mold, and board-up divisions
  • Support and oversee Project Managers, technicians, laborers, and subcontractors
  • Coordinate staffing, scheduling, equipment, and subcontractor needs
  • Maintain production capacity while improving efficiency and profitability
  • Conduct regular job audits for documentation accuracy and billing readiness
  • Ensure crews are following SOPs, safety protocols, and company standards
  • Participate in on-call scheduling and emergency response coordination

Performance & Financial Management

  • Monitor division KPIs including revenue, labor efficiency, gross profit %, cycle times, and job completion rates
  • Review job costing, payroll, labor utilization, and production reporting
  • Identify and remove operational bottlenecks
  • Assist with budgeting, inventory management, and equipment planning
  • Help maintain profitability while delivering high-quality service

Customer Experience & Communication

  • Ensure exceptional customer communication and service throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct inspections and communicate with homeowners, adjusters, and commercial clients as needed
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in company systems

Training & Development

  • Coach and develop Project Managers and field staff
  • Lead technical and safety training meetings
  • Support certification tracking and ongoing professional development
  • Help create and improve operational processes and SOPs

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 4-5 years of experience in restoration, mitigation, emergency services, or related field OR
  • Associate degree in a business-related field with 3+ years of restoration industry experience
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of water mitigation, mold remediation, and emergency response operations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead teams in high-pressure situations
  • Comfortable using technology and operational software systems
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • IICRC Certifications (WRT, ASD, AMRT, etc.)
  • Experience with Xactimate, Dashboards/BI reporting, or restoration management software
  • Experience managing crews, equipment, scheduling, and job profitability
  • Strong problem-solving and coaching abilities
