What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Emergency Response, and why are they important?

To thrive in Emergency Response, you need a solid grounding in emergency protocols, first aid, crisis management, and typically relevant certifications such as EMT, CPR, or incident command system training. Familiarity with communication equipment, dispatch systems, and specialized rescue tools is often required. Strong decision-making, teamwork, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are crucial soft skills. These abilities are essential for ensuring rapid, effective action and coordination during high-stress, life-threatening situations.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in Emergency Response roles?

Emergency Response professionals often face the challenge of working in high-pressure and unpredictable environments where quick decision-making is crucial. They must be prepared to handle a variety of emergency situations, adapt to rapidly changing conditions, and sometimes work long or irregular hours. Collaboration with other agencies, such as fire departments, law enforcement, and healthcare providers, is common, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills. Additionally, managing emotional stress and ensuring personal safety while helping others are important aspects of the role.

What are emergency response jobs?

Emergency response jobs are roles focused on preparing for, responding to, and managing emergencies such as natural disasters, accidents, or public health crises. These jobs include positions like paramedics, firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), disaster response coordinators, and search and rescue personnel. Professionals in emergency response work to protect public safety, provide medical care, and coordinate evacuation or relief efforts during crises. Their work often involves collaboration with government agencies, hospitals, and community organizations to ensure effective and timely responses to emergencies.

What is the difference between Emergency Response vs Emergency Medical Technician?

Job description

About Us

Insurcomm Restoration delivers complete restoration, reconstruction, and emergency response you can rely on when everything needs to go right. For more than 30 years, we have helped property owners, facility teams, and communities recover from fire, water, mold, storms, and environmental hazards. As part of Fortify Companies, we are part of something bigger: a platform that aligns insurance carriers, property owners, and service providers across prevention, response, restoration, and rebuild.

Our teams, technology, and local expertise come together so property owners and insurers get fewer losses, faster recoveries, and someone they can trust.

About the Role

When a fire starts at 2 AM or a pipe bursts on a Sunday, a homeowner does not call a contractor. They call someone who can make it right. As an Emergency Response Coordinator at Insurcomm, you are that person.

This is a field-based role where no two days look the same. You will respond to emergency leads across your assigned territory, show up on-site, and be the first face a family or business sees during one of the most stressful moments of their lives. You will listen, explain what comes next, and close the agreement that gets our team working. Then you hand off to a project team that carries the job through to the final walkthrough.

This role is on-call 24/7. It is not for everyone. But if you are motivated by helping people, comfortable in high-pressure situations, and driven by results, it is a genuinely rewarding way to work.

What You Will Do

Respond to emergency calls and show up on-site for property owners impacted by fire, water, mold, or storm damage

Provide immediate support, clear communication, and a calm presence to people having one of the worst days of their lives

Explain Insurcomm services and close signed agreements at point of contact

Coordinate with internal crews and project managers to ensure a smooth handoff from emergency response to restoration

Build relationships with insurance agents, adjusters, property managers, and first responder networks in your territory

Monitor lead sources and community channels so you can be on-site fast when an emergency happens

Support marketing and community outreach in your territory when not actively on a response

Stay current on required IICRC certifications and Insurcomm training programs

Requirements

What You Bring

We are looking for 4 to 6 years of experience in any of the following, or a combination:

Restoration or property services - mitigation, construction, ERC, or project coordination

Military, fire service, EMS, law enforcement, or emergency dispatching

Sales and customer service in a field or high-contact environment

        Insurance or property management

Beyond background, we are looking for specific qualities:

You stay calm when things are chaotic. Property owners in crisis need someone steady.

You are a people person. Building trust quickly is what this job runs on.

You are self-motivated. Your territory, your schedule, your results.

You close. Empathy matters, and so does the ability to get to yes.

You are organized. Managing multiple leads, contacts, and handoffs requires it.

A high school diploma is required; an associate's degree or related certification is a plus.

You Will Thrive Here If You Are...

Energized by helping people through hard situations, not just completing transactions

Comfortable being on call and working a schedule that shifts around real emergencies

Attracted to compensation that rewards your effort directly

Interested in building a career in restoration, property services, or emergency management

Connected in your local community, or ready to build those relationships

Benefits

What We Offer

A role with real impact - you help people through some of the hardest moments of their lives

Competitive base salary with performance incentives tied to closed jobs and revenue

Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage

        401(k) with company match

Generous PTO and 9 paid holidays

        Company vehicle or vehicle allowance

Paid training and IICRC certification support

The stability of a 30-year-old company with the energy of a growing national brand

Career growth across multiple companies and markets under the Fortify umbrella

A team that values plain talk, hard work, and doing right by our customers

Our Brand Values

        Safety first, always

Showing up with a service heart

        Bringing the energy

        Predictability in the unpredictable

        Driving success together

Ready to Join Us?

We are building the future of property protection, and every market starts with people like you: someone who shows up, earns trust fast, and helps a family or business move forward when things fall apart. If you lead with empathy, close with confidence, and want work that actually matters, we want to hear from you.
