A propos du poste

Nous sommes a la recherche d'un(e) Surintendant(e), Intervention d'urgence et Surete industrielle afin de diriger la conception, la mise en uvre, le suivi et l'amelioration continue des programmes d'intervention d'urgence et de securite pour un projet minier eloigne en phase de developpement ( greenfield ).

Il s'agit d'une occasion unique pour un leader chevronne en intervention d'urgence et en securite d'influencer la preparation du projet, de renforcer les mesures de maitrise des risques et de batir des equipes hautement competentes dans un environnement de projet complexe.

Relevant du ou de la gestionnaire HSES et travaillant au sein de Rio Tinto Projects, vous serez appele(e) a :

  • Diriger l'elaboration et la mise en uvre des plans de surete industrielle du projet, d'intervention d'urgence, d'evacuation, de resilience organisationnelle et de reprise des activites.

  • Fournir une expertise en surete industrielleet en intervention d'urgence dans le cadre des plans de formation, des revues de preparation operationnelle, des revues de mobilisation, des ateliers et des revisions documentaires.

  • Gerer les renseignements relatifs aux menaces et aux risques de surete industrielle, elaborer des strategies de reduction des risques et soutenir la protection efficace des personnes, des actifs et des lieux de travail.

  • Participer aux enquetes d'incidents, aux analyses des causes fondamentales et aux audits, y compris les evaluations du modele de maturite en securite de Rio Tinto, a titre d'expert(e) de la matiere.

  • Developper et maintenir les competences des equipes d'intervention d'urgence et de surete industrielleau moyen de formations, d'exercices planifies et d'activites pratiques de preparation.

  • Gerer les contrats de services tiers lies a la surete industrielleet a l'intervention d'urgence, ainsi que la performance des entrepreneurs et fournisseurs associes.

  • Maintenir des relations productives avec les services policiers, les autorites civiles et provinciales, les responsables du projet ainsi que les experts internes en HSES et en performance sociale.

  • Veiller a ce que les equipements, le materiel et les systemes d'intervention d'urgence soient entretenus adequatement et conformes aux exigences legales et aux normes de Rio Tinto.

  • Une experience significative en gestion des interventions d'urgence et de la surete industrielledans les secteurs minier, industriel, manufacturier ou dans des environnements eloignes.

  • Des qualifications en lutte contre les incendies, incluant la certification Officier(ere) en securite incendie - niveau I ainsi que la certification d'instructeur(trice) accredite(e) Pompier(ere) niveau I. Les certifications Pompier(ere) I et Pompier(ere) II, operateur d'autopompe et technicien(ne) en desincarceration constituent des atouts importants.

  • Une experience de travail avec des equipes medicales diversifiees, des premiers repondants, des equipes de sauvetage minier, routier ou forestier, ainsi que dans la prestation de formations specialisees (travail en hauteur, espaces clos, desincarceration, etc.).

  • De solides competences en leadership et une capacite demontree a developper des equipes, encadrer des entrepreneurs, influencer les parties prenantes et collaborer avec les equipes Projet, HSES, CSP et les groupes de produits.

  • Un permis de conduire valide de classe 4A ainsi qu'un permis valide de superviseur immediat sans pratique delivre par le Bureau de la securite privee (BSP) du Quebec.

  • Une excellente maitrise du francais a l'oral et a l'ecrit ainsi qu'une connaissance de base de l'anglais. Rio Tinto est une entreprise mondiale et les responsabilites du poste peuvent necessiter une collaboration avec des collegues, equipes ou partenaires situes a l'exterieur du Quebec.

Votre lieu de travail

Ce poste releve de Rio Tinto Projects et soutient un projet minier eloigne en phase de developpement ( greenfield ) lie a la transition energetique mondiale. Le poste sera initialement base a Montreal durant les phases de preparation et de planification du projet, puis evoluera vers un horaire FIFO sur le site du projet au cours de la phase d'execution. About the role

We are looking for an Emergency Response and Security Superintendentto lead the design, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of emergency response and security programs for a remote greenfield mining project.

This isa great opportunityfor a seasoned emergency response and security leader to influence project readiness, strengthen risk controls, and build capable teams in a complex project environment. Reporting to the HSES Manager and working within Rio Tinto Projects, you will be:

  • Leading the development and implementation of project security, emergency response, evacuation, businessresilienceand recovery plans.

  • Providing emergency response and security input into training plans, readiness reviews,mobilisationreviews,workshopsand document reviews.

  • Managing threat and security risk intelligence, developing risk reduction strategies, and supporting effective protection of people,assetsand work locations.

  • Participating in incident investigations, root causeanalysisand audits, including Rio Tinto Safety Maturity Model assessments, as the subject matter expert.

  • Building andmaintainingthe competencies of emergency response and security teams through training, exerciseschedulesand practical readiness activities.

  • Managing third-party security and emergency response service contracts,contractorsand related service performance.

  • Maintaining productive relationships with law enforcement, civil and provincial authorities, project leadership and internal HSES and CSP areas of expertise.

  • Ensuring emergency equipment, materials and response systems aremaintainedappropriately and aligned with legal requirements and Rio Tinto standards.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team, with genuine care for people and their wellbeing.

  • Significant emergency and security management experience in mining, heavy industry, industrial safetymanagementor remote site environments.

  • Firefighting qualifications, including Officer I and accredited Firefighter I instructor status; Firefighter I and II, fire engine operator and extrication technician certifications are highly relevant.

  • Experience working with diverse medical teams, first responders, mine/road/forestry rescue teams, and deliveringspecialisedtraining such as rescue at heights, confinedspacesand extrication.

  • Strong leadership capability, with proven ability to develop teams, guide contractors, influence stakeholders and collaborate acrossproject, HSES, CSP and product group teams.

  • A valid Class 4A driver'slicenceand a valid "Immediate Supervisor Without Authorization to Practice"licencefrom the Private Security Office in Quebec (BSP).
