Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Traction Power Engineering Manager to join our Global Rail Systems team in Mississauga, Ontario location.


In this role the ideal candidate is a results-driven engineering professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills. ย  Key for this role will be the ability to work well in a team environment and develop/mentor staff. ย Candidates must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


As a successful candidate, you will:


ย  ย Develop and manage major technical programs including control of scope, schedule and budget
ย  ย Produce system designs from feasibility through Issue for Construction and eventually supporting through testing and commissioning of the system
ย  ย Organize, manage, and inspire staff to achieve program objectives
ย  ย Manage owner and stakeholder interests
ย  ย Present ideas, concepts and details to owners, contractors, and others.
ย  ย Coordinate and build partnerships both internally with HATCH and externally with partners to achieve goals
ย  ย Review work of others and provide detailed and constructive commentary in a professional setting
ย  ย Work with others to promote HATCH and develop opportunities for new work
ย  ย Lead regional TP team to develop training, competency management schemes, quality documents and process, and technology improvements/innovations.ย 
You bring to the role:


ย  ย A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline ย 
ย  ย Professional Engineering Licence or ability to acquire one within 6 months
ย  ย Ten (10) years of experience in the rail electrification industry with at least three (3) of those working for manufacturers, contractors, or owners on at least one project based in the Canada.ย 
ย  ย Five (5) or more years of multidisciplinary project experience such as planning, project management, or large project systems integration
ย  ย Experience with both third rail and overhead catenary systems
ย  ย Detailed knowledge of and experience with the design from first principals and implementation of DC systems (600/750/1000/1500v), AC systems (12.5/25KV), grounding/bonding and EMI/EMC systems including but not limited to modeling and simulations, preliminary design, detailed design, RAMS, programming, field testing, and V&V
ย  ย Preferred experience with multi-vendor equipment

ย  ย CAD tools (AutoCAD/MicroStation), BIM tools (Civil 3D and REVIT)
ย  ย Analysis and modeling tools for traction power load flow, arch flash, and grounding/bonding
ย  ย Experience in field testing of Traction Power Systems
ย  ย Knowledge of current Cyber Security practices
ย  ย Project management experience

Base salary range: $150,000 - $200,000
