Job Description:
Role Summary

Seeking a QE Performance Test Engineer to ensure applications are scalable, stable, and performant under real-world and peak load conditions. This role will design and execute performance tests, identify bottlenecks across the application stack, and partner with Development, QA, DevOps, and Architecture teams to improve system reliability and user experience.


Key Responsibilities
  • 6-8 years of performance engineering experience.
  • Advanced JMeter proficiency and hybrid Java automation test suite expertise.
  • Strong Java coding skills with robust software engineering practices.
  • Translate non-functional requirements from stakeholders, development, business, and product teams.
  • Design and build automated performance testing pipelines integrated with CI/CD for applications with Message Queue (MQ) systems, SFTP, and API applications.
  • Mainframe application performance testing exposure is good to have.
  • Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in applications.
  • Working knowledge of DB2, SQL, and query optimization techniques.
  • Practical experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot.
  • AI mindset: Proactive adoption of AI tools and technologies to streamline testing processes, accelerate script development, and drive continuous improvement in QA workflows.

Required Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience
  • 6+ years of experience in QA/Test Engineering with a strong focus on performance testing.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, k6, or similar.
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, microservices, caching, queues, and database concepts.
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or Groovy for test automation.
  • Experience with APM/monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Grafana, Prometheus, and Splunk.
  • Solid knowledge of performance metrics including latency, throughput, concurrency, CPU/memory utilization, garbage collection (GC), I/O, and network behavior.
  • Experience in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerized platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: 62,000 to 70,958

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
