Responsibilities Serve as the subject matter expert for wind turbine performance, control logic, turbine parameters, software configurations, and operability. Monitor and analyze operational performance of wind, solar, and energy storage assets using SCADA, historian, and operational data platforms. Lead performance reviews with site teams, identify drivers of lost production, and develop action plans to improve availability and generation. Investigate underperformance events including power curve deviations, derates, curtailments, component faults, and equipment availability issues. Apply fleet-wide fault analytics to identify recurring operational challenges and recommend corrective actions. Manage turbine control parameter and software configurations to support safe, reliable, and optimized operation. Develop and maintain performance metrics, dashboards, reporting tools, and operational KPIs that support business decision-making. Lead initiatives focused on improving fleet performance, generation efficiency, and asset reliability while minimizing long-term operational risk. Partner with operations, SCADA, reliability, and engineering teams to evaluate improvement opportunities and drive implementation. Present performance findings, recommendations, and project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Support the implementation and evaluation of new technologies, analytics platforms, monitoring tools, and operational improvement programs. Provide technical support and mentorship regarding performance data extraction, analysis, interpretation, and best practices. Travel periodically to renewable energy facilities across North America to support investigations, stakeholder engagement, and project execution. Essential Skills 5+ years of experience in performance engineering for renewables asset management. Experience with Vestas wind turbines. Experience investigating causes of lost energy, pinpointing faults, and developing troubleshoot plans. Understanding of theoretical power & generation power for operating wind farms. Familiarity with basic engineering and ability to read electrical schematics. Ability to travel across North America. Strong communication skills. Additional Skills and Qualifications Hands-on experience with operating Vestas turbines. Experience with Nordex turbines. Experience building out AI agents. P.Eng certification. Exposure to software like power factors and asset performance tools. Familiarity with SCADA systems. Basic understanding of data analysis with Python, Tableau, and SQL.
