Salary Range: $100,000 - $135,000

Travel Requirement: Up to 20% domestic and international travel

POSITION SUMMARY

The Embedded Systems Engineer will serve as the in-house technical owner for an outsourced embedded and electrical engineering strategy, responsible for defining requirements, selecting and managing external engineering partners, and ensuring delivery of production-ready firmware, electronics, controls, and connected-tool platforms for Magswitch electromechanical and robotic products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Write, revise, and improve firmware for both new and existing hardware
  • Bring up new boards and test firmware on real hardware
  • Debug firmware issues using logs, scopes, and basic test tools
  • Work with sensors, motors, I/O, and communication interfaces
  • Support firmware testing for prototypes and production units
  • Work with the sales team to help debug issues in the field
  • Work closely with the overseas manufacturing team, including off-hours meetings
  • Work with contractors and customers as needed
  • Stay on track with project timelines and budgets
  • Identify and promptly elevate any risk to project schedules and budgets to the manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience
  • Knowledgeable of embedded systems and programming C/C++
  • Experience with motors, actuators, sensor integration, and electrically actuated tool or automation systems
  • Ability to write and debug board-level drivers
  • Experience with MCU peripherals, including SPI, I2C, ADCs, and GPIO
  • Experience with MCU timers, interrupts, and DMA
  • Experience debugging firmware using scopes, logic analyzers, and serial tools
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to test products hands-on and troubleshoot issues
  • Ability to create internal andcustomer-facingdocumentation
  • Ability to identify and understand relevant regulations and standards documents to ensure the product line meets all relevant standards and regulations
  • Ability to make intuitive decisions based on proper discernment of ideas and options
  • Possess strong verbal, written, and organizational skills essential to professional communication
  • Ability to work ina fast-pacedenvironment
  • Drive to expand THE TEAM's knowledge and develop new skills
  • International & Domestic Travel, Up to 20%
