Job description

Embedded Software Engineer

The Opportunity:

As an embedded software engineer, you know how to create and maintain crucial pieces of software. You use your knowledge to write and optimize code that creates a bridge between pieces of software, allowing them to communicate. We're looking for an embedded software engineer like you to develop technology for our clients' most important mission-forward challenges.

As an embedded software engineer at Booz Allen, you'll support the development of systems, sites, and tools for our clients. Using the latest tools and technology, you'll write, test, and edit code in support of the team's overall results. You'll strengthen your skills as you develop and reverse engineer software that supports hardware functionality on a wide range of devices, as well as configure solutions based on the platform being used. You'll partner with team leadership to troubleshoot and correct operational issues, as well as with cybersecurity specialists to ensure that the software you're creating is secure.

You Have:

  • Experience developing embedded or realtime systems using C or C++
  • Experience with scripting for automation, testing, or tooling
  • Experience working with embedded hardware, including integration with FPGAs, microcontrollers, or custom electronics
  • Experience with realtime constraints, deterministic execution, and hardwaresoftware interfacing
  • Experience with testing or prototyping using tools such as MATLAB or LabVIEW
  • Experience participating in Agile workflows such as daily scrums, Jira tracking, or iterative development
  • Ability to communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams and convey technical information to leadership
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CS, or a STEM field

Nice If You Have:

  • Ability to acquire client requirements and resolve workflow problems through automation optimization
  • Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance
  • TS/SCI clearance

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
