Responsibilities
Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Email Administrator to primarily oversee and manage our email systems, including Microsoft Exchange Online/On-Premise, Email Security, and related technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Exchange administration, proficiency in PowerShell scripting, and experience with email security solutions and Microsoft Intune.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Email System Administration:
    • Administer and manage Microsoft Exchange Online, including provisioning and management of users, groups, and resources; management of mail-routing rules and connectors, and assist other team members as needed.
    • Oversee email system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability. Regular patching and updating of Exchange 2019 on-premise.
    • Implement and manage email policies, including retention, archiving, and compliance.
  • PowerShell Scripting:
    • Develop and maintain custom PowerShell scripts for automating administrative tasks, generating reports, increasing system efficiency, and performing system monitoring.
  • Email Security:
    • Manage and configure email security solutions to protect against spam, phishing, and other email threats.
    • Monitor security alerts, perform investigations, and implement measures to safeguard the email environment.
    • Collaborate with Cyber Security team for incident response, end user training, and security best practices.
  • Device and Application Management:
    • Administer Microsoft Intune for managing email-related policies on mobile devices.
  • User Support and Training:
    • Provide technical support for email-related issues to end-users, including troubleshooting and resolving complex problems with email and related applications such as Microsoft InTune.
    • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions on email best practices and security awareness.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of email configurations, processes, and changes.
    • Generate regular reports on email system performance, security incidents, and user activities.

Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience:
    • High School Diploma/GED Required
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, or equivalent work experience and at least 2 years relevant experience in Email Administration or in a similar role with a strong focus on Exchange and PowerShell OR 4 years relevant work experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Required - Expertise in administering Microsoft Exchange environments.
    • Required - Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for email system management.
    • Required - Knowledge and understanding of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
    • Preferred - Experience with email security solutions, especially Proofpoint.
    • Preferred - Familiarity with Microsoft Intune for managing mobile devices and applications.
    • Preferred - Any experience with Lotus Notes administration is a plus.
  • Certifications:
    • Preferred - Microsoft Certified: Exchange Server or similar certification.
    • Preferred - Other relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Good analytical, verbal and written skills required
    • Maintain company confidentiality
    • Interact with users for system clarifications and requirements
    • Write system and process documentation
    • Provide user support for Altec associates via phone, email and in person
    • Willingness to work outside standard business hours to resolves issues or complete special projects
    • Track and maintain constant communication with the customer from the beginning to the end of any established case, issue, or concern
    • Remain highly adaptable
