Job description

Performs daily tasks within a classroom environment, while assisting the Supervising Teachers. Duties may include leading lessons or small group activities for students, lesson planning and grading student assignments in accordance with the grading criteria. May provide assistance with individual guidance to students as it relates to behavior.

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of appropriate experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
Provides day to day support for the supervising teacher to facilitate classroom routines and daily caregiving tasks.  Assists supervising teacher in curriculum development and delivery of classroom activities.  Leads small group instruction at the direction of the supervising faculty.  Provides student oversight and supervision.  Provides a safe and nurturing environment for growth.  Communicates directly with supervising teachers and school staff related to the needs of the children and their families.  Participates in classroom management, set-up, break-down, decoration, etc. at the direction of the supervising faculty.  Maintains compliance with DOE Childcare Licensure and NAEYC Accreditation Standards.  Abides by the ideals and principles set forth by the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct.
Other responsibilities and activities as assigned by designated staff and supervising teachers.
