Job description

This teacher will support both Isom and Westwood Elementary Schools. We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered ELL Teacher to support multilingual learners in grades K5. The ELL Teacher will provide direct language instruction, collaborate with classroom teachers, and ensure students develop English proficiency while accessing grade-level content. 

  • Key Responsibilities: -Provide direct instruction in English language development aligned to state standards
  • -Support students in developing skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing
  • -Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement differentiated instruction
  • -Monitor student progress and use data to inform instruction
  • -Develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for English learners
  • -Administer language proficiency assessments and maintain accurate records
  • -Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
  • -Support culturally responsive practices within the school community
  • -Participate in MTSS/RTI processes and provide targeted interventions
  • -Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines for English learners 

Qualifications: 

  • -Valid Indiana
  • -teaching license ESL/ELL certification or endorsement required
  • -Experience working with elementary-aged English learners preferred
  • -Knowledge of second language acquisition and best instructional practices
  • -Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • -Ability to use data to drive instruction
  • -Familiarity with language assessment tools (e.g., WIDA ACCESS)
  • -Ability to support diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
