Job description

Overview

Hepburn and Sons is seeking an Electronics Maintenance Technician to be part of our experienced technical team at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) located at Wallops, Island, VA. SCSC provides a high-fidelity combat system capable of replicating the configuration of every ship in the AEGIS and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today, as well as future ship platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot combat system equipment using site and element drawings
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Alongside Naval Subject Matter Experts, support software updates Navy systems
  • Learn new systems through our in-house Contractor Qualification System and develop proficiency on multiple combat systems
  • Conduct inventories on circuit boards and modules in electronic systems
  • Adhere to the Navy 3M system, policy, processes and regulations
  • Complete maintenance administrative tasks including 2K's, Shift pass downs and CSESS updates
  • Fiber and copper cable dressing and cable management
Qualifications
  • High School/GED and at least 2 years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective/preventive maintenance on electrical and/or mechanical systems and/or equipment, or an Associate's Degree in a technical discipline or an IAT level certification.
  • PQS 301 qualification is required. If selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified on or before hire date, he/she must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within first three months of employment.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance
