Job description

The Production Manager oversees daily production operations, managing test technicians and assemblers while ensuring products are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role works cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Program Management to drive performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize day-to-day production operations for avionics and ATM products.

• Lead, hire, and develop a team of test technicians and assemblers; set goals, monitor performance, and support career development.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, including safety, environmental, quality, ESD, 5S, and ethics standards.

• Maintain production schedules and adjust resources to meet customer delivery commitments.

• Drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma principles.

• Ensure adherence to engineering specifications and standard operating procedures; support root cause analysis and corrective actions (e.g., 8D).

• Monitor and control production costs, including labor tracking, materials usage, and rework reduction.

• Manage production equipment and test assets, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration.

• Oversee ERP, production systems, and data accuracy in collaboration with IT and Engineering.

• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, quality, and efficiency.

• Partner with Quality and Engineering to resolve production issues and improve yield.

• Support operational leadership and perform additional duties as needed.


Requirements:

• 5–7+ years of experience in production or manufacturing leadership within electronics, avionics, aerospace, or defense industries.

• Experience managing production teams, including test technicians and assemblers.

• Strong knowledge of production planning, ERP/MRP systems, and manufacturing processes.

• Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives.

• Understanding of quality systems (e.g., ISO/AS9100) and corrective action processes.

• Proven ability to meet production schedules, control costs, and improve operational performance.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Technical aptitude to understand electronic assembly and test processes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel required; Power BI a plus).

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• U.S. citizenship required.
