Ontic is a leading global aerospace OEM trusted by the world's aviation leaders. Ontic's Chatsworth, CA, site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. With over 1,400 employees across four time zones and seven sites, we have more than doubled in size since 2019 and are continuing to grow at pace.
Our team is looking for an Engineer Manager at our Chatsworth Location. The Engineering Manager is responsible for all technical aspects relating to the support of various product lines within the Microwave Systems and MRO Value Stream. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Engineering.
We are looking for an Engineering Leader who has a strong technical competency in Microwave Systems; additional benefit yet not required is familiarity with Maintenance Overhaul and Repair facilities.
Engineering Manager Responsibilities:
  • Manage and Lead the Manufacturing and Process Engineers within the Microwave Systems & MRO Valaue Stream
  • Foster collaboration and communication across the enterprise.
  • Responsible for engineering deliverables covering the full lifecycle of the Program/Project as required by the Program Scope/business, including optimizing manufacturing efficiency through design for manufacturing methodologies, resolving obsolescence and providing technical support to the supply base
  • Responsible for the technical delivery of complex work packages, providing leadership to cross-functional teams within and IPT framework
  • Define and deliver the customer requirements and definition for the project. Closely follow change with eye for technical and contractual impacts.
  • Provide technical interface with customers maintaining a proactive Customer-driven attitude. Develop customer relationships based on transparency and trust
  • Communicate across all levels of the organization to ensure alignment at working and management level.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering managers to ensure on-time delivery of engineering commitments and/or technical project support
  • Comply with engineering processes and methodologies
  • Manage technical interface, communication, and escalation between customers (internal/external).
  • Technical risk evaluation, management, mitigation and closure of escalations
  • Work to resolve issues preventing progression of technical work scope at the IPT level within the IPT in a timely manner

Qualifications & Skills
  • Electronic Engineering Degree
  • strong System Engineering skills with 7-10 years' experience
  • Ability to learn new products quickly and have overall knowledge of existing products on site.
  • Broad engineering knowledge of Microwave Systems, Power Supplies, Command- Control-Telemetry Electrical Systems with a strong electro-mechanical aptitude
  • background in microwave radar and satcom systems, strong Project Management skills with minimum 5-years customer facing experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and guidelines
  • Demonstrated track record of developing project plans, schedules, and budgets for small to mid-size projects
