Job description

Project Manager, Microgrid Construction

We are looking for a hands‑on Project Manager to drive exciting microgrid projects across California. You will report to the Senior Director, Project Management and be based in Oakland or Santa Monica, CA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead construction projects from contract signature to commissioning.
  • Align internal functions (Business Development, Engineering, Service) throughout project execution.
  • Prepare project schedules, operating rhythms, and sequence of operations to inform all stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and manage third‑party agreements and relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Manage bid solicitation, review, subcontractor negotiations, and final project budgets.
  • Track project costs and schedules to ensure on‑time, on‑target delivery.
  • Proactively identify and resolve conflicts with viable solutions.
  • Inform the build‑out of the Project Management function to keep pace with company growth.
Ideal Candidate
  • 5+ years of experience in construction management, general contracting, logistics, engineering, energy industry, or military.
  • Understanding of building codes and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Critical thinking and creative problem‑solving skills.
  • Proactive and takes initiative.
  • Able to work autonomously and represent Scale in customer‑facing situations.
  • Some experience with logistics or project management software.
