We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electromechanical Engineer to join our team at K&A Engineering in Binghamton, New York. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Role Expectations:

  • One-line diagrams aligned with system study requirements
  • General arrangement and layout drawings
  • Substation civil engineering knowledge
  • Major equipment bid specifications
  • Detailed estimate and probability modeling
  • Structure calculations
  • Insulation, A/C interference, static wire, grounding studies
  • Work with switchgear, breakers, transformers, and motor-operated disconnects
  • Understand how mechanical linkages, springs, motors, and actuators interact with electrical controls
  • Support breaker maintenance, mechanism troubleshooting, and equipment upgrades
  • Assist with specifying electromechanical relays (older tech) or understanding how modern digital relays interface with mechanical equipment

What were looking for:

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Six (6) years or more of Power System Engineering Experience Required
  • Knowledge of distribution design required
  • Completion of Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is preferred
  • Professional Engineer license is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and data processing skills
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented
  • Must be able to report to the office (Tuesday-Thursday)

Pay Range $88,000- $95,000/annually
