Electrical Project Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to lead the electrical design and delivery of commercial and industrial construction projects. The role combines technical design, project management, and client coordination to ensure systems meet performance, safety, and budgetary objectives. The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with strong electrical engineering expertise and practical experience using Revit for design documentation.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design and engineering for projects from concept through construction, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and control systems.
  • Develop detailed electrical drawings, specifications, load calculations, and equipment schedules using Revit and other design tools.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural and MEP disciplines, contractors, and clients to resolve design issues and integrate systems.
  • Prepare cost estimates, review contractor bids, and support procurement of electrical equipment and materials.
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, and budgets; track progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Perform site visits and construction administration, including review of shop drawings, submittals, and progress inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards (NEC, NFPA, local codes), and client requirements; lead design QA/QC processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, review deliverables, and support resource planning and team development.
  • Participate in client meetings, present technical solutions, and provide status reports to project stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in relevant state(s) required 
  • 6+ years of electrical engineering experience in building or industrial projects, including design and construction support.
  • Proficient in Revit (BIM) for electrical modeling, drawing production, and coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE standards, and local electrical codes.
  • Experience with electrical load calculations, short-circuit analysis, coordination studies, and lighting design.
  • Proven project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
  • Excellent technical writing and presentation skills; ability to prepare clear specifications and reports.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required and perform field inspections.
