MRI FUSION TECHNICIAN (PAID TRAINING)

This position is a great opportunity for an experience healthcare professional with the following experience; OR Tech, Patient Care Technician, Medical Laser Technician, Sterile Processing Technician. We offer paid training for the right candidate with excellent work history and a passion for customer service.

Under the supervision of the treating physician, the MRI Fusion Technician supports targeted prostate biopsies and other urological procedures by integrating MRI and ultrasound imaging technologies. This role requires strong technical precision, patient-focused care, and comfort working in procedure settings while maintaining high standards for safety, accuracy, and documentation.

What you’ll do

  • Operate MRI-ultrasound fusion platforms (UroNav, Artemis, or equivalent) to support targeted prostate biopsies and other urology procedures

  • Prepare, calibrate, and troubleshoot imaging equipment and biopsy tracking systems; ensure safe setup/teardown and infection control

  • Import and align diagnostic MRI images in fusion software, including segmentation as needed to support accurate targeting

  • Partner with physicians, radiologists, and surgical teams to keep procedures efficient, accurate, and patient-focused

  • Maintain procedure documentation, QA checks, and required logs; support integration between EMR records and imaging platforms

  • Transport MRI Fusion equipment to hospitals and/or ambulatory surgery centers and provide technical assistance during procedures

  • Communicate proactively with scheduling teams, support staff training as needed, and stay current on MRI fusion best practices

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • CPR certification (must be current and maintained)

  • At least 1 year experience providing patient & physician support in an OR setting

  • Ability to meet hospital requirements for operating room access (including annual TB screening and any facility-mandated requirements)

  • HIPAA training compliance and completion of required company regulatory courses

  • Moderate computer skills and comfort working with imaging/software platforms

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to handle sensitive situations professionally with patients, families, physicians, and staff

  • Ability to maintain and provide any required state license(s) as applicable by law/operational needs

  • May be required to hold a Commercial Driver’s License (where required) and must maintain a safe driving record

Preferred qualifications

  • Operating room experience

  • Special procedures background

  • Familiarity with patient positioning, equipment functions, and male urologic anatomy

Physical & work environment

  • Frequent walking/standing; lifting and supporting patients as needed

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs multiple times per day and push equipment (on wheels) up to 500 lbs

  • Work hours may vary based on patient scheduling; weekend/holiday work may be required

  • Potential exposure risks related to electrical equipment and radiation; strict safety compliance required

  • Frequent travel within or outside the assigned geography; overnight travel as needed
