Job description

VCA South Shore Weymouth Animal Hospitalis hiring experienced Veterinary MRI Techniciansto join our team at our busy, 24-hour emergency/referral/multi-specialty and general practice in South Weymouth, Massachusetts.

Compensation: $30 - $35 / hour based on skill set, experience and licensure status. Experienced Veterinary Assistants welcome to apply.

As a MRI Veterinary Technician, you:

  • Independently perform diagnostic MRI studies under the direction of a veterinarian.
  • Create new and manipulate existing imaging protocols.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of PACS, computer systems, and hospital software.
  • Review patient medical information and prepare patient for procedures following proper screening and care protocols.
  • Coordinate patient flow through MRI department, assisting in duties necessary to expedite service.
  • Ability to run CT scans a plus, but will train
  • Train and monitor technical associates on all aspects of MRI equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, contacting support specialists when needed, maintaining records of equipment failure, and notifying management.
  • Consistently follow MRI safety procedures in accordance with safety standards, immediately reporting any hazards or accidents.
  • Understand hospital estimates and have the ability to present them in a clear manner to clients.
  • Address client concerns and answer them appropriately within job duties.

Potential Schedule: Weekday, with potential rotating weekend day.
