The candidate for this role will provide electrical engineering support to the Enterprise Capital Engineering team with two focus areas in relation to Electrical Engineering. Focus area number one will be in providing Electrical Engineering Capital Project Leadership. Project activities are primarily focused within our KC North American facilities, but global support may be required. The second area of focus will be in providing Electrical Engineering Technology support for technology deployment across KC North American facilities and will include capability building and oversite in Electrical Technology areas for internal KC teams, as well as TSP provider teams. The incumbent will provide electrical leadership and support for Project and Electrical Technology deployment across our manufacturing and converting processes for existing and planned product forms. The incumbent reports to an R&E Senior Manager and receives direction in the form of specifically defined project objectives.

About You

In one of our engineering roles, you'll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. Job responsibilities include:

  • Provide functional leadership and creativity in the initiation of design, development, and optimization of KC manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Seek, recognize, define, and solve problems to achieve unit objectives while collaborating and maintaining relationships with technicians, reliability team members, staff, and outside TSP vendors/contractors.
  • Develop knowledge and skills in application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management.
  • Actively demonstrate Environmental, Health and Safety as a value through active leadership, positive influence of mindsets and by identifying and addressing risks to prevent loss to our people, processes, and materials, while ensuring compliance with regulations, corporate policies, and plant guidelines.
  • Some level of travel is expected, but the frequency and location of travel will vary based on individual project assignments.Estimated yearly travel ~20%.
  • Project Electrical Engineering Leadership:
    • Provide EE leadership on multiple product, process, expansion, or obsolescence improvement projects from Engineering Design Review through Commercialization with focus on electrical systems.
    • Demonstrate capability to oversee multiple projects and activities, ensuring they are driven to successful completion and achieve the desired outcomes.
    • Provide onsite deployment support during project rollouts at manufacturing facilities, with focus on electrical systems. Will require incumbent capable of hands-on machine interaction and safe machine entry (SOA/lockout/tagout).
    • Provide hands-on EE leadership at manufacturing facilities during project deployment, including oversite of internal KC support team, as well as TSP external support teams.
  • Electrical Engineering Technology Leadership
    • Identify and troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide necessary solutions to eliminate root cause.
    • Assist in the development of others within the area of incumbent's expertise.
    • Provide on-call and/or on-site technology support coverage at manufacturing facilities as needed.
    • Work with EE Project Leads to provide input and support for technology upgrades required within project scope throughout all phases of the project, including on-site during project deployment if necessary to ensure successful deployment of technology.
    • Active participation and technology partnership with R&D, Safety & EHS, and Digital IT/OT teams in cold call response, capability building of Value Stream Optimization Tech teams and TSP partners, and advancement of technology pathways.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • 3+ years' experience in an electrical engineering role.
  • Analytical skills to collect and assess data to support technical recommendations.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead self or small teams to achieve intended results.
  • Evidence of continuing self-development.
  • Ability to work within a team-based environment.
