Job description

We are seeking a Maintenance Co-op at our De Pere, Wisconsin plant for the 2027 Fall semester (June - December). This individual will aid in the day-to-day troubleshooting of process/reliability problems and execution of maintenance activities in a paper manufacturing environment. Pay Rate
  • $27.00 per hour

Requirements
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Enrolled in an Electrical, Mechanical or Software Engineering or Industrial Controls, or related degree program
  • Living in or willing to relocate to the De Pere, Wisconsin area from June - December 2026
  • Ability to work full-time for the duration of the position
  • Strong desire to work within a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
  • Strong technical aptitude and proven problem solving abilities

Responsibilities
  • Must follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable to the position's areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper.
  • Review, develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance processes to reduce unplanned downtime and increase overall asset efficiency
  • Work with plant teams and maintenance personnel in identifying and planning daily, weekly, and shutdown work
  • Assist with multiple capital and maintenance projects
  • Initiate and facilitate continuous improvement projects within the maintenance area
  • Investigate maintenance needs as required to support operations
  • Support maintenance craftsman with their day to day tasks
  • Work with suppliers ordering equipment and parts
  • Document equipment specifications and history
  • Provide maintenance coverage for start-ups from outages
  • Assist craftsman in performing repairs when necessary
