Working under the direct supervision of a Journeyman Electrician or Foreman, this role focuses on learning the foundational skills, safety practices, and technical knowledge required to build a successful career in industrial electrical construction.

This position is designed for individuals who are motivated to learn, enjoy working with their hands, and want to develop into future electricians. High-performing Electrical Laborers may have the opportunity to advance into Felix Construction's Electrical Apprenticeship Program.

What You'll Do

As an Electrical Laborer, you'll gain hands-on experience while supporting electrical crews in the field. Responsibilities include:

  • Follow all Felix Construction, client, and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Assist with trenching and excavation for conduit installation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
  • Stage tools, materials, and equipment to support daily operations.
  • Learn to identify electrical materials, components, and industry terminology.
  • Assist electricians with cutting, threading, bending, and installing conduit.
  • Help pull conductors through conduit systems.
  • Assist with assembling and installing strut racks and support systems.
  • Learn proper use of hand tools and power tools required for the trade.
  • Support electricians in identifying and correcting basic electrical issues under direct supervision.
  • Develop an understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), project specifications, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability and desire to obtain OSHA 10 and other required industry certifications.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
  • Interest in pursuing a career in the electrical trade.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using tools.
  • Understanding of basic electrical concepts such as current, voltage, and resistance (or willingness to learn).
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position requires working on construction sites in extreme temperatures. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and use hand tools associated with the construction industry. Specific vision abilities required include the ability to adjust and focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods, walk, sit, kneel, bend, reach with hands and arms, hear, and talk.
