Job description

Technical Solutions Inc. is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer Manager on behalf of our client, a Pittsburgh area engineering consultant. In this role you will solve complex infrastructure challenges, work on meaningful projects, and collaborate with a team that values technical excellence and practical problem-solving.

Duties:
  • Lead the design and development of electrical power distribution and process control systems for municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Design and specify systems related to pumps, blowers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), SCADA systems, and process control instrumentation.
  • Develop detailed electrical engineering designs, construction documents, and technical specifications for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct field investigations to evaluate existing conditions and gather critical information related to proposed system upgrades and improvements.
  • Assist clients with troubleshooting electrical and operational issues within existing treatment and pumping systems.
  • Provide startup, commissioning, and operational support for newly installed electrical and control systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop efficient, reliable, and maintainable solutions for complex infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal project teams to ensure projects move forward smoothly and successfully.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment to solve technical challenges and support critical infrastructure systems that communities depend on every day.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the detailed design of electrical power distribution and process control systems for municipal and/or industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Hands-on experience with pumps, blowers, VFDs, SCADA systems, and process control instrumentation.
  • Comfortable working both in the office and in the field, whether that means investigating existing systems, troubleshooting operational issues, or supporting system startups.
  • Understand how to balance technical precision with practical, real-world application.
