Electrical Engineer
Minimum 3 years of Electrical Experience
Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to fill an opening with a Construction Company located in Metro Detroit. Must have experience with power and lighting distribution.
Requirements of the Electrical Engineer
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • 2-5 years minimum experience with an electrical contracting company (preferred) and/or Architectural/Engineering firm required
  • Strong skills and proficiency in Revit software required
  • Proven experience with reviewing, editing, and writing project specifications required
  • Experience with generating and/or reviewing production submittals against project specifications required
  • Experience with walk throughs, defining scope and generating bill of materials required
  • Must be self-directed
  • Must also be able to manage others and possess strong communication skills
  • Ability to work cohesively with other departments within the company
  • Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and follow projects to completion
  • Strong problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time to jobsites in multiple states

Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer
  • Design and coordinate all power and lighting distribution systems meeting project specifications under the guidance of a Professional Engineer (PE) on staff
  • Manage and schedule 3D modelers/2D Drafters (VDC/BIM modelers)
  • Review, edit and write project specifications under the guidance of PE on staff
  • Generate and/or review production submittals against project specifications under the guidance of PE on staff
  • Assist in the estimating process for Electrical contractors by attending jobsite walk throughs, defining scope, and generating bill of materials
  • Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by management
