Reports To: Electrical Controls Engineering Manager
Location: The Woodlands, TX
Amount of Travel Required: Less than 25%
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm

POSITION SUMMARY:
Primarily works with medium and low voltage equipment, related services and to aid in job execution by performing the following duties. The person in this position assists with engineering, fabrication and operations of gas turbines and gas turbine packages
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "May.")
โ€ข Engineer and design Medium Voltage and Low Voltage (MV/LV) equipment for various applications
โ€ข Manage new unit builds, turbine, reciprocating engines, battery systems etc. with regards to MV/LV equipment and design
โ€ข Develop/commission and test new unit equipment
โ€ข Be the liaison between shop personnel and engineering
โ€ข Develop specification for requisition of parts for new builds
โ€ข Ensure equipment meets applicable codes and standards
โ€ข Aid operations with the installation and commissioning of MV/LV equipment
โ€ข Redline/Markup drawings
โ€ข Approve final drawings
โ€ข New product development (MV/LV)
โ€ข Manage the development package manuals relating electrical systems operation
โ€ข Help develop training program for field personnel
โ€ข Evaluate new product offerings from vendors
โ€ข QA/QC for components installed on new units
โ€ข Support field units when required
โ€ข Forecast planning for business needs
โ€ข Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
In addition to your salary, you will be eligible for an "hourly bonus" for excess hours over 40 hours a week worked at the field location. This bonus will be paid at your straight hourly rate, determined by your current salary at the time of payment. All other work will be part of your standard salary and will not be eligible for hourly bonus for excess time, unless approved. This bonus structure is subject to change upon internal evaluation. You will be advised of any changes made to the type of structure being used to calculate your bonus prior to implementation.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
โ€ข Successfully passes background check, pre-employment drug screening, and any pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
โ€ข Proficiency in spoken English language
โ€ข Position requires in-person, predictable attendance
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL
โ€ข Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited institution of higher education required
โ€ข 10-20 yrs of previous gas turbine controls/electrical experience
โ€ข Specific knowledge of GE LM gas turbine and related auxiliary systems
โ€ข Knowledge of Equipment controls and logic
โ€ข Able to read electrical/controls drawings
โ€ข E.I.T/ P.E. License preferred but not required
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
โ€ข Able to communicate in a technical manner around clients.
โ€ข Ability to work within a team concept to successfully complete assigned tasks.
โ€ข Ability to take instruction well and interact with other employees in a positive manner within the framework of assigned work groups.
โ€ข Efficient at Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
โ€ข Knowledge of GE and other gas turbine related mechanical systems
โ€ข Successfully complete New Hire Safety Orientation and annual recertification
โ€ข Successfully pass criminal background check and drug screening
โ€ข Valid Driver's license

Frequently required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach and squat/kneel. The Senior Electrical Engineer works primarily indoors and will be sitting prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities. The Senior Electrical Engineer may be required to lift heavy objects; therefore, The Senior Electrical Engineer must be able to lift 25lbs.
Work hours may include early morning, late afternoon/evening hours, and weekends in combination depending on job demands.
