Position Overview:

As an Electrical Engineer at Starcloud, you will design, develop, and test advanced electrical systems for our space-based data centers. You will take full ownership of complex hardware projects from concept to production and orbital operation, collaborating closely with leadership and multidisciplinary teams to deliver groundbreaking solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development:
    • Lead the design and development of high-reliability electronics for space-based data processing centers.
    • Create detailed schematics and PCB layouts using advanced ECAD tools.
    • Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal analysis to ensure robust, space-ready designs.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage the lifecycle of electrical components from initial concept through manufacturing, testing, and deployment.
    • Develop and refine design criteria, collaborate on system-level requirements, and drive system trades.
    • Ensure timely project delivery with high standards of quality and performance through meticulous project management.
  • Testing and Validation:
    • Design and execute comprehensive test plans to validate electrical designs under various environmental conditions, including vibration, thermal cycling, and radiation.
    • Utilize DOE (Design of Experiments) and SPC (Statistical Process Control) methodologies to analyze test data and inform design improvements.
    • Conduct rigorous environmental and performance testing to validate analyses and ensure compliance with design criteria.
  • Production and Integration:
    • Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to establish efficient production processes for space-qualified hardware.
    • Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and reliability, ensuring seamless integration into the overall system architecture.
    • Engage with vendors to ensure high-quality delivery and integration of electrical components.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with ECAD software (e.g., Mentor Graphics, Altium Designer).
  • Experience with PCB design, layout, and troubleshooting.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in electrical design, analysis, testing, and/or manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management principles
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in electrical design and analysis, particularly in aerospace, space, or data processing industries.
  • Expertise in high-speed digital, RF, and power electronics.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++) for automation and data analysis.
  • Experience with PCB design for space applications and radiation-hardened electronics.
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
