About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the analysis and design of electrical systems that meet KCL Engineering standards, client expectations, and system budgets. You’ll work collaboratively within department, office, and company teams to produce design documents, provide consultation, and oversee construction administration for the systems you design. This role also includes performing project management duties and participating in business development and office growth activities.

Essential Duties

Client Engagement / Business Development

Assist in marketing efforts and proactively pursue projects with new and existing clients.

Maintain strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction.

Participate in project interviews and strengthen relationships to support company growth.

Design / Documentation

Perform design calculations, code research, and system costing estimates.

Develop schematic, design development, and construction documents while ensuring accuracy and coordination across disciplines.

Project Management / Coordination

Lead multiple projects simultaneously, communicating and coordinating work progress with team members.

Supervise and support engineers and designers, fostering leadership development.

Conduct field surveys, oversee construction administration, and troubleshoot project challenges.

Quality / Standards

Lead quality control reviews and incorporate new technologies and trends in designs.

Maintain CAD, Revit and KCL Engineering standards.

Site Visits / Construction Support

Conduct Site Visits during construction phases to monitor progress and resolve issues.

Ensure construction aligns with design specifications and client expectations.

General Responsibilities

Maintain project schedules, meet deadlines, and attend meetings as required.

Operate engineering tools, software, and office equipment efficiently.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred, but not required.

Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience.

PE License preferred, but not required.

Special Conditions of Employment

Site visits may require wearing personal protective equipment (e.g., hard hats).

Valid driver’s license required for travel to meetings or job sites.

Physical requirements may include sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, or lifting up to 50 lbs. on rare occasions.
