Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Fenton, MO

Salary Range: $100,000 – $200,000 + performance bonus

Position Overview

Our client, a growing Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing (MEP) engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of electrical systems for commercial and institutional facilities.

This hybrid role is ideal for an experienced electrical engineer with 10+ years of commercial building design experience who is ready to step into a leadership position. The successful candidate will lead electrical design efforts, coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams, and manage projects from concept through construction.

This position offers the opportunity to lead project teams, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a direct client interface, making it an excellent opportunity for someone ready to expand their leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for commercial and institutional building projects.

  • Develop power distribution, lighting, and building electrical system designs.

  • Lead electrical design efforts through all phases of a project including concept, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.

  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and staffing allocations.

  • Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing (MEP) teams, architects, and contractors.

  • Interface directly with clients to review project requirements, progress, and technical solutions.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.

  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure quality and compliance with project standards.

  • Utilize AutoCAD for electrical design documentation; support projects utilizing Revit where applicable.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • 10+ years of electrical design experience in commercial or institutional buildings.

  • Strong experience designing electrical systems for building projects.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

  • Ability to manage project resources, schedules, and budgets.

  • Strong client communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • Experience with Revit / BIM modeling.

  • Experience managing full project teams or leading electrical departments on projects.
