MRIGlobal has a full-time opportunity for an Associate Electrical Engineer in Kansas City, MO. In this unique opportunity, the selected candidate will work with other engineering and technical disciplines in the design, prototyping, and testing of custom systems to meet customer requirements. Furthermore, the selected candidate will:
  • Work on the end-to-end design of mixed-signal, digital, and power electronics systems from customer requirements.
  • Design electrical systems in a wide range of fields including biotechnology and defense.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
  • Perform duties on multidisciplinary teams to meet project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
  • Manage own workload and independently complete assigned tasks

Success Factors:
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers or technical staff as assigned.
  • Communicate project development and progress with team leads, project managers, and may participate in coordination with federal clients and contractors.
  • Create electrical circuit drawings that accurately reflect each project's requirements and quality standards.
  • Provide timely technical guidance and feedback to internal clients, external clients, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Exposure to embedded circuit design and software integration.
  • Hands-on debugging of digital, analog, RF, or mixed-signal CCAs or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Flexible and positive under pressure; able to adapt quickly in a fluid, fast-moving environment while maintaining harmony with the team.
  • Able to take direction and constructive feedback while also advocating for sound technical decisions to become a better contributor
  • Proficient with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum/network analyzers, etc.)
  • Comfortable with engineering calculations, assumptions, constraints, unit consistency, and defensible reasoning (including limitations and safety considerations).
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70 and other electrical standards.
  • Willingness to travel up to 4-12 weeks per year.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with electrical design and PCB layout tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle (Altium preferred).
  • Able to interpret schematics, PCB layouts, BoMs, and technical datasheets.
  • Ability to obtain government security clearance.

Pay Range $75,500 - $94,000
The salary range is intended as a general guideline and is not a guaranteed offer, as compensation depends on various factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
