Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr Manager, Electrical Engineering is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and performance of electrical and digital systems engineering across White River Marine Group. This role defines technical direction, system architecture, and organizational priorities to ensure delivery of integrated, high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives.
This leader oversees engineering execution through Managers and Leads, ensuring alignment across programs, effective resource utilization, and development of a high-performing engineering organization. The Sr Manager partners cross-functionally to align technology development with product strategy, innovation, and long-term growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Defines and drives the technical vision, system architecture, and long-term roadmap for electrical and digital systems across all product platforms.
  • Leads the engineering organization through Managers and Leads, ensuring alignment, accountability, and performance across teams.
  • Establishes priorities across programs and allocates resources to support business objectives and product timelines.
  • Partners with Product Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and leadership teams to align engineering strategy with product and business goals.
  • Establishes and enforces engineering standards, processes, and best practices across electrical and digital systems development.
  • Oversees system-level integration, validation strategies, and regulatory compliance to ensure consistent performance and quality.
  • Develops organizational capability through leadership development, succession planning, and talent strategy.
  • Drives innovation and technology adoption to enhance product performance, manufacturability, and customer experience.
  • Serves as escalation point for cross-program or systemic technical and organizational challenges.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Degree Required: Associate Degree
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (if applicable)
  • Years of experience: 12+ years of relevant engineering experience with 5+ years in leadership or management roles
  • Experience leading electrical and/or digital systems engineering teams in a product development environment
  • Experience in marine, automotive, or similar industries preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
  • Deep understanding of electrical systems, digital systems, and system integration within product development environments.
  • Proven ability to lead through leaders and manage multi-level engineering organizations.
  • Strong strategic mindset with ability to align technical direction with business objectives.
  • Experience leading complex engineering programs across multiple product lines.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, validation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent cross-functional leadership and influencing skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Up to 20%. Occasional travel to manufacturing sites, test facilities, supplier locations, and marine test environments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly sits and works on a computer.
Occasionally stands, walks, and lifts up to 50 lbs.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Develops strategic direction, goals, plans and policies for an area of responsibility. Sets broad objectives and is accountable for overall results in respective area of responsibility. Authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance. Requires a high degree of independent judgment and problem solving of complex problems.
