Job description

Job Title: Panel Builder/Electrical Technician
Location: Rochester Hills, MI
Shift: 2nd Shift

Long-Term Contract


Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Panel Builder/Electrical Technician to fabricate, wire, assemble, and test industrial electrical control panels. This role supports machine builds and automation projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and requires strong electrical, mechanical, and blueprint-reading skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, wire, assemble, and test electrical control panels
  • Assemble machines and panels to support efficient manufacturing operations
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, panel layouts, and blueprints
  • Select, size, drill, fit, and mount mechanical and electrical components
  • Prepare, cut, strip, terminate, and route electrical wiring and cables
  • Mount and wire PLCs and related control components; troubleshoot as needed
  • Arrange, align, and secure all electrical and mechanical components to complete control panels
  • Fabricate machine parts, piping, and ductwork using hand tools and specialized shop equipment
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and safety practices (including HVAC electrical installations)
  • Maintain inventory of panel-building materials, tools, and supplies
  • Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and safe

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience building industrial electrical control panels
  • Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, wire gauges, and control panel construction
  • Experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Familiarity with PLC mounting and basic troubleshooting
  • Proficient with hand tools and power tools used in panel fabrication
  • Understanding of electrical codes and industry standards
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a shop or on-site environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience building industrial control panels
  • Experience in manufacturing, automation, or machine build environments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Schedule:

  • Candidate needs to be open with working overtime and multiple Saturdays a month
    • 2PM-12:30AM Mon-Thurs
    • 12PM-8:30PM Friday
  • Saturday:
    • 6AM-2PM
