Job description


7th Consolidated Term
The Election Rules Commission (ERC) Deputy Supervisor of Elections is responsible for assisting all official ERC operations including, but not limited to elections processes, advertising Student Government Elections, candidate information meetings, reviewing grievances, setting up/ working polling stations, and certifying election results for the St. Petersburg campus.
Responsibilities
Role and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the daily business of all Student Government Elections for the St. Pete campus.
  • Help inform St. Petersburg candidates of election rules and regulations while also enforcing them when necessary.
  • Attend and vote on any issue during ERC meetings including election grievances.
  • Create and coordinate programming efforts on behalf of the ERC.
  • Implement event ideas to promote the election process.
  • Coordinate all logistics for ERC events.
  • Assist in the recruitment of poll workers.
  • Help set up and work official polling stations during specified voting days.
  • Attend all ERC sponsored events including debates and the Inauguration Ceremony.
  • Assume the duties of any ERC position ONLY as the need arises.
  • Testify in cases brought to the Supreme Court concerning elections.
  • Write and propose Rules of Procedures to be adopted by the ERC.
  • Act on behalf of the Supervisor of Elections and the Associate Supervisor of Elections when they are not present.
  • Volunteer at Student Government events.
  • Perform any duties as necessary and proper to execute the mission of the Election Rules Commission and USF Student Government.

Qualifications
  • Must be in good academic standing (maintain minimum cumulative institutional 2.5 GPA for undergraduate students and 3.0 GPA for graduate students).
  • Must be actively enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours as an undergraduate degree-seeking student or a minimum of 4 credit hours as a post-baccalaureate student during the fall and spring semesters.
  • Must not be undercurrent disciplinary probation, suspension, or expulsion by the university.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possess a working understanding of Title VII of the Student Government Statutes and the election process.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism anda commitment to ethical practices.
  • Ability to think critically and logically in any given situation.
