Position Description

EIP is seeking a New Construction Outreach Representative to support the delivery of a commercial new construction energy efficiency program. The program provides unbiased technical assistance to building owners, developers, architects, engineers, and contractors to identify energy-saving opportunities during the design and construction process and helps participants obtain financial incentives for implementing qualifying measures.

The Outreach Representative will be responsible for developing relationships throughout the commercial construction market, identifying new construction and major renovation projects, recruiting participants into the program, and serving as the primary point of contact throughout the customer journey. This role requires extensive networking, relationship development, and collaboration with EIP's engineering team to ensure customers receive timely technical support and maximize available incentives.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated relationship-builder who understands the commercial construction industry and enjoys connecting customers with valuable technical resources.

Objectives of this Role

  • Develop relationships with key market actors involved in building design and construction.
  • Identify projects early in the design process to maximize energy savings opportunities.
  • Coordinate technical services and engineering reviews for participating customers.

  • Identify and Recruit Projects: Proactively identify new construction and major renovation opportunities through industry networking, permit tracking, market intelligence, public records, referrals, conferences, and professional relationships.
  • Lead Customer Recruitment: Conduct outreach through calls, emails, meetings, site visits, presentations, lunch-and-learns, and industry events to recruit eligible projects into the program.
  • Promote Program Services: Educate customers and design teams on available technical assistance, energy modeling support, design reviews, incentive opportunities, and program benefits.
  • Guide Participants Through the Process: Serve as the primary customer contact, helping participants understand program requirements, technical recommendations, incentive opportunities, and next steps throughout project development.
  • Coordinate Technical Services: Work closely with EIP engineers and technical staff to schedule design reviews, energy assessments, modeling activities, and other technical support services.
  • Support Project Progression: Follow up on identified opportunities, address participation barriers, coordinate stakeholder engagement, and help move projects from initial identification through construction and incentive completion.
  • Develop Trade Ally Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with contractors, equipment vendors, distributors, architects, engineers, and other industry partners who influence building design and construction decisions.
  • Participate in Industry Events: Attend and represent EIP at conferences, trade shows, professional association meetings, networking events, and other public venues to strengthen market presence, identify opportunities, and develop industry connections.
  • Support Outreach and Education Activities: Organize and participate in workshops, webinars, presentations, and educational events that promote high-performance building design and program participation.
  • Maintain CRM and Tracking Systems: Ensure outreach activity, customer interactions, project status, participation milestones, and pipeline progression are accurately documented in HubSpot and other tracking systems.
  • Gather Market Intelligence: Monitor construction activity, industry trends, emerging technologies, customer needs, and market barriers to help improve program performance and customer engagement strategies.
  • Report on Performance: Prepare regular updates regarding project pipeline, recruitment activity, participation forecasts, market opportunities, and customer engagement outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Technology Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using CRM systems, spreadsheets, project tracking tools, and customer management platforms.
  • Mission Alignment: Commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and advancing high-performance building design and clean energy outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
