Job description

The EIP 3-5 Math Teacher is responsible for the education of assigned students and will create a flexible program and class environment favorable for learning and personal growth. The EIP teacher will establish effective rapport with students; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and the knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further education, and do so in accordance with each student's ability. Professional relations will be developed and maintained with other staff and parents.ย 

ย ESSENTIAL DUTIES:ย 

  • Provides the names/ number of EIP students to the principals/Assistant Principal byย September 1 and/or well in advance of the first FTE count throughout theย ย 
  • Conducts at least five fifty-minute segments of small group instruction daily to assigned students according to the schools approved model and EIP schedule.ย ย 
  • Provides principal, teachers, and district EIP Coordinator with a detailed EIP schedule.ย ย 
  • Maintains an accurate and up-to-date data notebook to include but not limited to progress monitoring, benchmark results, differentiated lesson plans.ย 
  • Analyzes assessment data weekly to target explicit, systematic, small group instruction and to plan for continuous improvement for each student, subgroup of students, and the school as a whole.ย 
  • Provides the principal with weekly differentiated lesson.ย 
  • Aligns instruction with Georgia Performance Standards and district expectations for learning.ย 
  • Plans regularly with regular education teachers to design, monitor, and revise instruction to ensure that students are progressing toward the standards.ย 
  • Charts and documents the growth of each EIP studentโ€™s data based on the instruction provided using a balanced assessment system (diagnostic, performance, formative, summative, academic prompts, etc.).ย 
  • Conveys high expectations for student achievement through instructional goals, activities, interactions, and environment.ย 
  • Supervises students and maintains discipline at all.ย 
  • Reviews SIS reports prior to each FTE count to ensure proper coding in the student information system for students receiving EIP services.ย 
  • Adheres to GaDOE guidelines for serving EIP eligible students.ย 
  • Protects the confidentiality of student information.ย 
  • Interacts positively with students and parents.ย 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.ย ย
