Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Quality & Mission Assurance, the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager will lead changes that improve the company's EHS performance and compliance through strong leadership and proactively addressing concerns before the employees and/or facilities are put at risk. This role requires proficiency in safety, industrial hygiene, employee and property protection, environmental compliance, and sustainability. This position will be responsible for all environmental, health & safety compliance across all Terran Orbital sites.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Terran's EHS program and policies to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as industry standards, helping Terran avoid legal penalties and maintain a positive reputation
- Identify potential workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement strategies to mitigate risks, including ergonomics, air quality, chemical handling, and machine safety
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and safety incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive measures to prevent recurrence
- Oversee processes such as waste management, pollution prevention, emissions reduction, and sustainability practices to minimize environmental impact
- Design and deliver safety training programs, educate employees on EHS policies, and promote a culture of safety awareness and environmental responsibility
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conduct drills, and coordinate responses to workplace incidents or environmental emergencies
- Conduct regular walkthroughs, inspections, audits and reporting to ensure compliance and continuous improvements in safety and environmental performance
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, training and inspections
- Manage an EHS Performance Indicator Dashboard
- Manage the environmental permits and certification requirements as well as processing material/vendor management for the proper storage and disposal of chemicals and waste.
- Serve as point of contact with regulatory agencies for permitting, audits, for emergency preparedness/response.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree required in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Management or related field of study.
- 8+ years experience in hazard assessment, safety risk management, ergonomics, personal protective equipment, injury and incident investigation, reporting, industrial hygiene, auditing, behavior-based safety training.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and/or Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) strongly preferred.
- Application in the aerospace industry strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA/DOT/CUPA/SCAQMD and EPA regulations
- Experience in Manufacturing, Office, and Cleanroom environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with and present to all levels of management, employees, guests, vendors, and team members.
- Demonstrated time management, organization, and prioritization abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and efficient and structured problem-solving skills.
- Possess strong sense of urgency and do the right things first, taking the initiative to resolve them as quickly as possible. Excellent at prioritizing, planning, managing, and scheduling multiple types of services.
- U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD clearance.
