Salary Range: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 Salary/year

Travel Percentage: Road Warrior

SUMMARY

The Regional EHS Manager serves as a professional resource providing training, auditing, and accident investigation services and technical support to our employees, supervisors and managers. He or She supervises and coordinates all ongoing EHS activities and programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment for all employees; assists in the development and implementation of accident prevention programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serves as designated EHS representative to assigned branches, coordinating and implementing all areas of the EHS Program as directed by EHS Director.
  • Audits Branch and Field employees to ensure compliance with EHS rules and policies.
  • Influences behavior and inspires commitment on the part of all personnel in complying with safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment. Conducts training and coaches associates on observed work habits in support of this effort.
  • Has frequent and substantive communication with branch managers, EHS staff, and operations staff, to ensure all are equally well-informed regarding EHS issues and goals.
  • Leads or assists in preparing responses to inquiries from government agencies including OSHA.
  • Conducts risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions. Recommends appropriate risk mitigation measures to Management, including ergonomic considerations, in all such efforts.
  • Participates, as a member, in the Trench Shoring Company Safety Task Force (STF).
  • Leads and/or facilitates incident investigation process. Reviews submitted investigation reports.
  • Prepares/maintains required documents and forms to comply with TSC standards.
  • Provides (or facilitate access to) immediate first aid for employees, visitors, vendors, or guests that need assistance, or medical attention.
  • Enters incident information in database in a timely manner.
  • Trains and assists other employees (Managers, Safety Team Members, etc.) to complete their responsibilities (Audits, Follow Safety Rules, etc.).
  • Performs specific training as required by the EHS Director.
  • Provides fundamental EHS training as required (first aid, CPR, orientation, etc.) to ensure employees are trained in workplace safety and environmental requirements and are familiar with the safety and health hazards to which they may be exposed.
  • Ensures that new or previously unrecognized hazards or potential hazards from proposed new or revised materials, processes, procedures or equipment are appropriately reviewed and that necessary corrective action is completed in an effective and timely manner.
  • Makes recommendations and assists as needed to develop and improve safety policies, rules, standards, manuals and any other EHS-related material, process, or programs.
  • Represents TSC to governmental agencies (Health, Fire departments, AQMD, Etc.) to ensure compliance.
  • Acquires and/or maintains professional certifications and trainer credentials.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of three to six years related experience; bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards.

  • The employee must frequently wear Trench Shoring Company mandated safety equipment (including but not limited to high-visibility vest, hard helmet, approved safety glasses and safety-toe boots).
  • The employee will occasionally be required to drive long distances to other Trench Shoring locations.
  • The position is a safety sensitive position.
