Job description

The Construction Safety Manager protects workers, the public and company assets by developing, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive health and safety programs. Core duties include conducting daily site inspections, performing hazard risk assessments, leading safety meetings, and investigating workplace incidents, and to ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, ISN and AVETTA regulations.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Inspections & Hazard Identification - Walking job sites daily to spot and immediately correct unsafe conditions, ensuring proper use of PPE, fall protection, and equipment.
  • Safety Training & Onboarding - Leading employee orientations, task-specific training, and regular "toolbox talks" to maintain high safety awareness.
  • Incident Management - Documenting safety incidents or "near-misses," conducting root-cause investigations, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Policy Development: - Creating and updating project-specific safety plans, maintaining compliance records, and drafting regular written safety reports for project managers and clients.
  • Collaboration - Serving as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries, working with subcontractors, and advising company executives on risk mitigation strategies.
